By now, you've probably come across all the ads from different gyms around town promoting body transformations that come from a 6 week challenge. These programs are geared to getting you maximum results in a short about of time. But the benefits are more than just weight loss. Building muscle is the key factor in losing weight and keeping it off for good. The 6 week transformation challenge promotes consistency and accountability, which are also really important if you want to see permanent change. 

Why the 6 Week Challenge promotes permanent change

 

Building Habits and Consistency takes Time
One of the reasons why you have failed to lose weight and keep it off permanently is lack of consistency. If you're only hitting the gym twice a month and don't have a structured plan in place to follow, it's very easy lose interest and motivation. By showing up to the gym consistently to work out with your coach and fellow challengers, you will build the habits that create lasting change.

On average, it takes 66 days for a new habit to become ingrained in your daily routine. By virtue, a 42 day challenge will get us very close to maintaining those habits that we want to incorporate into our lives. 

 

Accountability to Others means We are Going to Stick to it!
When your personal trainer messages you to ask you how your nutrition is going or why you missed a class, it's going to help you become more likely to stick to your program when you have to answer to someone. The reason why the 6 week challenge works is that we have a responsibility to ourselves to be successful. When there's another human who also cares about whether we show up adds the extra push for us to continue when we don't feel like going. It's easier to stay on the couch when there's no other person waiting for you at the gym. 

 

The Early Results Keep You Motivated
For many of our members, our 6 week challengers on average are dropping 15 lbs of fat and lose 2-3 inches off their belly fat. When we've been plateaued for a long time, results like this can be a game changer for us to stay motivated. These early results are why the 6 week challenge works. Often, we buy gym memberships thinking we will use them and we have our best intentions to do so.

But after the initial water weight comes off, we struggle to see the same results over a longer period of time. The difference between working out with a certified personal trainer and just yourself is that a coach knows that they must increase intensity with each exercise to bust through plateaus. That doesn't mean doing extra long cardio and not taking any rest days. Progressive overload, hypertrophy, anerobic drills, and interval training are all great ways to challenge our bodies and increase that intensity. But unless we know how to implement them at the right time in our programs, we're not going to get the results we want. That's why having a coach is so important if we are serious about transforming our bodies.

After 6 weeks, you will notice your energy levels have increased and you recover faster from your workouts (less muscle soreness). You will also notice that your cardio endurance has gone up so you can do your workouts without needing breaks.

 

This is Only the Beginning 
Once you've completed the 6 week challenge, you will be considering how to keep the results you've gained. The next phase of the program is all about permanency and body composition changes. If you stop what you've been doing to get the results, all that fat you lost initially is going to come back. That's what yo-yo dieting is all about and this is what we're trying to get away from.

The next phase of the program will teach you how to incorporate your favourite foods back into your nutrition so that you don't go backwards once you finish the initial phase of the program, which is the 6 week challenge. Not only this, but we're going to increase the intensity of our workouts.

In 12 weeks, you will start seeing even more definition in your muscles and lift heavier than you ever have before.

In 6 months, you will have adopted all the lifestyle changes into your normal routine and achieve a more permanent outcome.

In 12 months, if you were originally experiencing discomfort from being out of shape, your muscles and core stability is at a place where you will significantly reduce back or joint pain. You will have noticeable body composition differences including visible muscles and 8-10% reduction in body fat as long as you stay consistent.

When you finally commit to making the changes necessary to improve your quality of life, you will begin to realize that working out and eating right will keep your future self happy. Your future self is going to have lots of energy, more confidence, better sleep, lower stress and higher quality of life. We have an Inbody 270 Scanner that will measure your muscle mass and body fat composition to let you know how you are progressing on your fitness journey. Sometimes, the scale, the mirror, and our clothes don't give us the information we need about whether we are moving in the right direction. For people who have very little to lose or carry weight all over their body instead of one visible area, the Inbody 270 can give you more encouraging information about your progress. We also take measurements and before/after photos so you can see the changes over time. 

Our personal training memberships include 1 scan a month.

For our 6 week challenge participants, we include 3 scans as part of your package (beginning, middle, end).

For non-members, we charge the following:

1 scan - $35 + GST

3 scans - $90 + GST

5 scans - $125 + GST
